Management Team

Petko Dinev, Ph.D. - Founder, President, Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Dinev has more than 20 years of experience in the field of digital imaging. He has a M.Sc. degree in Applied Physics from Sofia University, Sofia, Bulgaria, and a M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Florida. He held both academic and industrial positions, including Assistant Professor in Physics and Optics at Technical University, Sofia, Bulgaria; Member of Technical Staff at Sarnoff Corp., Princeton, NJ; Senior Research Fellow at Concord Camera Corp., Hollywood, Florida. During his career he was responsible for new products development, and he successfully introduced to market numerous cameras - ranging from consumer digital cameras, advanced high-definition cameras, to special application military and space imaging systems. In 1998, his doctoral dissertation on "Ultrasound Brain Imaging" was awarded with the prestigious Merrill Lynch Forum Innovation Grants Competition. Dr. Dinev is a member of the advisory board for Imaging Technology Commercial Space Center at Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Florida.

Gregory A. Pangburn - Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Pangburn began working with the company in September 2002. He was brought on as CFO in January 2003. Before joining us, Greg operated a successful consulting practice which he founded in 1998. Greg brings nearly 25 years of accounting, finance and management experience to IMPERX through such diverse industries as: manufacturing, construction, insurance, professional sports and telecommunications. He has served as the principal financial officer in both public and private companies. Mr. Pangburn has held executive level positions with Marsh & McLennan Companies, Bechtel Power and Engineering, Fischbach and Moore, Northeast Utilities, Sarlon Industries, MobileOne Cellular and the Women's Tennis Association.

David Head – Business Development

David Head joins Imperx with over 23 years of experience in digital imaging. He has successfully completed numerous projects in sales and business development ranging from standard product to custom solutions. He has worked on airborne, LEO, HEO, deep space, extreme environment, semiconductor inspection and life science projects all with particular demanding requirements. He developed new business in application-specific solutions, embedded processing, spectral imaging, and time delay integration solutions with key corporations in commercial and DOD markets. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in physics and started in sales at Imaging Technology in Billerica, MA, transitioned to Coreco Imaging in Montreal, QB and moved to DALSA in Waterloo, ON which became Teledyne DALSA.

Atholl Paton – Director of Quality Management

Atholl Paton joined Imperx in 2023. He has over 25 years operations and quality management experience in a variety of world class engineering design and manufacturing organizations, including Harris, Telex, & Honeywell. Atholl has a Bachelors in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (specializing in television communications), a Masters in Quality Systems Management, was an ASQ CSSBB and a Honeywell DFSS GB. He has been a member of various institutes and professional bodies, such as the ASQ, IET and SIA, including having been the Chairman for the SIA Sensor Sub-committee, and has worked in the Oil & Gas, Telephony, Electronic Security, LED, and LED Message Display industries.
