LYNX FAMILY CAMERAS FROM IMPERX ANNOUNCED

Boca Raton, FL – January 20, 2005 – Imperx, Inc. a leading provider of digital cameras and frame grabbers, today announced that it has launched a new camera line, the LYNX Series. The cameras are based on the robust IPX series cameras but are much more advanced and sport a sleek, modern housing. The series includes 16 different models, from VGA resolution to 11 Megapixel.

LYNX Series cameras are loaded with the features that customers have appreciated and come to expect from Imperx as well as many new programmable features that provide even more flexibility to applications. The key to the LYNX series’ programmability is the image processing engine: a 1 million gate FPGA with 32-bit RISC processor.

The processing power of this camera means users are able to perform functions that tailor the camera to their application. For example, the dynamic range can be maximized by selecting from an 8, 10, or 12-bit output, performing multiple Look-Up-Tables on the image, vertical and horizontal binning, and/or dynamic function transfer correction. The image data can be output in different formats to suite the application, by inverting either of the taps.

Programmable features include horizontal and vertical binning, dynamic transfer function correction, user defined Look-Up-Tables, resolution, frame rate, shutter, long integration, strobe output, gain and offset, AOI, external trigger, dynamic S/N correction, temperature monitor and alarm, field upgradeable software and firmware, automatic iris control (optional) and even built-in test patterns.

To access the cameras for programming, serial communication can be performed through the CameraLink interface by the LYNX camera configuration utility or a hyper terminal window. Additionally, the camera firmware can be upgraded in the field.

About Imperx, Inc.

Imperx, Inc. designs, develops and manufactures advanced, state-of-the-art imaging products used in the machine vision, medical, defense, surveillance and astronomy markets, and wherever there is a need to capture high-resolution digital color or black/white images for both still and full-rate motion processing. Imperx’ manufacturing facilities are certified for ISO 9002 compliance.

Imperx’ product portfolio is focused in four core areas: cameras, frame grabbers, adapters and repeaters. The MDC mega-pixel camera line features rich, high resolution, high speed, color and monochrome images and offers unprecedented performance for today's demanding machine vision and surveillance applications. The VCE series of analog frame grabbers have achieved the number-one market share status. FrameLink ™ digital frame grabber for CameraLink® cameras is the only product of its kind on the market! The Adapt-A-Link™ series of adapters allows customers to leverage their investment in existing cameras or frame grabbers, with dissimilar interfaces, by performing the necessary adaptation. Their series of Adapt-A-Link™ repeaters overcomes the distance limits imposed by the CameraLink® and LVDS standards, providing for a virtually unlimited reach.
