SPACE ACT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE NATIONAL AERONAUTICS AND SPACE ADMINISTRATION

GEORGE C. MARSHALL SPACE FLIGHT CENTER AND IMPERX, INC. FOR RUGGED SPACE RATED HD-SDI CAMERA

 Imperx, Inc. has signed a Space Act Agreement with NASA. Through this partnership, Imperx  and NASA,THE GEORGE C. MARSHALL SPACE FLIGHT CENTER will work together to refine the design to meet all space rating needs.

Imperx is a leader in ruggedized cameras for aerospace applications. NASA MSFC has been working with one of their High Definition – Serial Data Interface (HD-SDI) cameras doing preliminary design modifications to ruggedize to a space rated level for the SLS program. NASA MSFC has also done testing including radiation and electromagnetic interference testing to show the Imperx camera meets space design requirements.

The radiation results put the commercial off the shelf (COTS) camera ahead of its class in capability, thus justifying pursuit with the specified company. NASA MSFC will use test facilities to qualify the design. It will also result in an off the shelf product that meets space program needs.
