Industrial vision just got an intelligent upgrade with the Imperx Panther series AI1-P1911, the smartest implementation to make in the future of automation. By combining a 2.86MP Sony Pregius IMX429 Global Shutter CMOS sensor with an embedded AI core, this rugged smart camera brings deep learning capabilities, including object classification, detection, and segmentation, directly to the edge.

The Imperx Panther series AI1-P1911 camera allows for the ability to analyze raw pixel matrices to instantly extract data, notify you, and dispose of undesirable findings. These cameras shift operations from manual, inconsistent sampling to a fully automated, trackable inspection process. This enables real-time tracking across the factory floor to streamline productivity in industries ranging from food and beverage to automotive and electronics. It features a GeniCam™ compliant user interface to ensure simplicity in installation and allows for full access to raw data for applicable edits.

The implementation of a custom trained, convolutional neural network eliminates the possibility of operational failure entirely. The .5 um global shutter with a 40 fps capability, along with the native 1944 x 1472 resolution, 2/3” optical format, and the 77dB dynamic range allow for the highest quality imagery while conducting product inspections. It supports 8-,10-, and 12- GigE Vision® PoE® output modes and the monochrome model features 1 x 2, 2 x 1, and 2 x 2 binning modes.

Imperx’s AI1-P1911 camera is complete with an IP-67 rated enclosure, fully protecting the internals from contact with water and dust. The ruggedized design also eliminates any discrepancies caused by extreme vibration, shock, or radiation. It has an operating temperature range of -30° C to +75° C and is designed to the MIL-STD 810G standard.

Imperx smart cameras combine image capture, processing power, and decision making into one device, eliminating the need for a central server. They also support EtherNet/IP™ and CIP™ for rapid integration into Rockwell Automation software and do not rely on cloud connectivity to maintain functionality. The consolidation of lenses, sensors, processors, and I/0 also reduces power consumption, allowing for an immediate and substantial return on investment.
